How to do with moisture in the Air flow of Dust removal system?

Conveying dry air

The usual practice is to introduce (add) dry air into the high humidity process when entering the dust removal system. The air flow to the dust removal system is high in temperature and contains a large amount of water. As the flow passes through the dust removal system, it begins to cool and is likely to reach its dew point, resulting in condensation. However, if the dry air is added to the air flow when entering the system, the moisture content, wet bulb temperature and dew point of the air flow will be reduced, thus reducing the possibility of condensation. However, if unadjusted ambient air is introduced into the high temperature flow, the overall temperature of the air flow can also be reduced. Remember, your goal is to keep the gap between dry and wet bulb temperatures. Cooling air reduces its ability to hold water and may actually increase the wet bulb temperature. This problem can be avoided by heating the gas before it is added to the airflow. Here, the pipes from the process maintain an angle (away from the dust removal system) to enhance air mixing and to help disperse the air throughout the flow.

 

Use process control

We can also use process control to monitor and maintain the target airflow properties to achieve consistent dedusting system operations. For example, a controller that monitors the temperature of a wet or dry bulb may turn on or off the air damper, or control a variable frequency fan driver or heating device to maintain the propagation between the two temperatures. Process control can also reduce the operating cost of the system by minimizing the fan energy consumption required to generate the target gas flow, thereby reducing the energy required for heating into the air and prolonging the life of the filter.

 

Install a dust collector and heat insulation near the process

If it is not possible to increase air flow during the process and process control does not fully maintain the target dry-wet bulb temperature, try to minimize the flow of air cooling in the pipeline system between the process and the dust collector as close as possible to our filter. The piping system and collector walls can also be insulated to retain as much heat as possible from the process airflow. Both steps minimize the likelihood of condensation.
